New baby

There's just something about a new baby. You remember from the first and second how little sleep you get. You remember being in pain, and sick. What I had forgotton was the joy of newness. Not just of the tiny new body, but all the new things for him. The joy of a good meal - yep, he smacks his lips after every nursing. Man! That was good! Just recently he discovered his hands. OH! They taste good. So does mommy's chin! But the best thing of all is the joy in his eyes when he sees me. Only 2 days ago he laughed just because I laughed with him. Only just a week ago he laughed because I tickeled him. Everything is new to him, and he looks around in wonder all the time. What a glorious outlook on the world!
